Botswana

The size of this successful country can be compared to countries such as Kenya or France, and fairly smaller than Texas. Botswana is a landlocked country with borders such as South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe which can all be crossed overland.

For such a small country it boasts an array of spectacular game viewing opportunities such as, hundreds of elephants splashing in the Chobe River, The Okavango Delta and its maze of lagoons, Moremi Game Reserve, and the stunning Central Kalahari Game Reserve.

All you have to do is sit back, relax and have your camera as you get guided through the dozens of mazes. The Okavango Delta is a bird lover's paradise enjoyed by all, best explored by foot and mokoro, and if you wish you can take a scenic flight and have a bird's eye view from the open skies. With over 400 species of birds, 70
species of fish and an abundance of wildlife, your experience in the delta will leave you wanting to explore the whole of Africa.

Chobe National Park allows you many opportunities to explore Africa's beauty, whether you are doing a game drive in the park, or taking a sunset cruise down the Chobe River, you will most definitely not be disappointed with your experience.

Botswana has to types of weather - Wet and dry. You may experience the wet weather from November to March, while you could experience the dry weather from May to August. The temperatures are generally warmer, but can cool down in the evenings.

Interesting Facts
Climate Conditions
Botswana's climate is semi-arid. Though it is hot and dry for much of the year, there is a rainy season, which runs through the summer months. Rainfall tends to be erratic, unpredictable and highly regional. As a desert region, there are large temperature fluctuations between day and night, and between summer and winter. Early mornings and evenings may be cold and frosty in winter (May-Sep). On all our tours, it's best to bring warm clothing - raincoat, warm hat, socks etc. - as across Africa wet/dry and hot/cool climatic periods change invariably.
